How many people would be interested in a camera shutter control that can go from 1ms to over a 1 minute delay at a 1 millisecond resolution. Serial port controlled and an external trigger?
This thing has motor current control (via serial port) and motor control in both directions.
The best one I have seen in America costs 800.00 usd and is not even close to this!
If enough are interested in it, I'll release the code for it.
Robert
(BASCOM-AVR version : 2.0.7.7 )
PS. I forgot to mention it has a 10,000,000 cycle life! |

one can have a different location and flag. the flag is just to identify your country of origin. but one can work in another country. _________________ Mark |

The thing with project, code, code snippets, etc. is that you never know when it is useful to someone. Maybe over 2 years someone will find this and be very happy. One can not know. _________________ Mark |

We seem to be thinking about this the wrong way.
This is not controlling your camera shutter, it's an external shutter that is controlled via an interface board ( also designed by me) that resides in a host computer. It's pretty high end and mostly for industrial usage.
But none the less could be adopted for any brand of camera.

Sounds neat. I can see uses other than for cameras as well.
But in most most digital cameras you cannot hold the internal shutter open indefinitely ( the old "bulb" setting ). So you would need to somehow interface with the camera enough to open the internal shutter, do the good stuff with your external shutter, then close the internal one. Once you can interface that far, you might as well use the internal shutter. These already have speed ranges of typically 1/2000 down to 8 secs or so. _________________ Adrian Jansen

OK,
I need to change the proto types current sensor just a bit, I will release it in just a couple of days time.
It seems When I made it. I had it set up to work with milliamps of current instead of amps!
I will release it under the Share your working Bascom Avr code here.
Just the same as I have released the last entire project project, I will do the same with this one...

Ok,
I'm going two release it within two days time. It's a brand new version and ultra small.
My computer will be down for a coupe of days time (moving) but after the internet is up again, I'll upload the
entire project for the shutter control.
As a bonus I'll through in the ECU (electronic control unit) project for it too.
The ECU was designed to be put into a small fan less computer and uses the sata22 pin connector to draw it's power from.
The ecu has a lot of I/O built into it and is fully opto isolated both inputs and outputs. Four of the inputs are 3.3vdc
tolerant the rest are five volt tolerant. All outputs are fused and can switch up to 1.5 amps of current.
More to list but not enough room.
