|

Hi,
I have bought some years ago Bascom AVR and Bascom 8051 . I would like to use them on a new project but I have a new computer with Windows7 and when I install them from original CDs the programs are not running.
It is possible that this old version will not run with Win7, or that I did not insert the password. I forgot the procedure, it has been long time.
Also I have old programmers, STK500 and STK200 which I would like to use but they do not have USB ports. Is it possible to interface them with the new computer via USB ports?
Please suggest me solution how to get the system up and running or advice if I should get something else.
Best Regards, Josef
(BASCOM-AVR version : 2.0.7.8 ) |

If you got your license DLL then it would be no problem to download a fresh installation from www.mcselec.com
For both Bascom-AVR as Bascom-8051
There is also a updatewizard that can do the job. Download a recent .LIC file and run the wizard.
Do a search on this forum for installation procedure.

About Windows 7, got Bascom-AVR running on a WIN7 machine. No problem.

And about the lack of a printerport...
Bought a Diamex All-AVR programmer. For ISP, TPI and PDI programming
And when you use the Arduino boards you can use the bootloader of the Arduino through USB to program the board.
In the help some info about a program to setup the USB ports.
Have fun

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your answer.
Can Diamex ALL AVR ISP programmer be directly connected via USB to Bascom? My current Bascom (demo) has following options:
AVR ISP Programmer
STK200/300 Programmer
PG302
External Programmer
Sample Electronics Programmer
Eddie Mc Cullens SPI programmer
KITRUS K122 programmer
STK500 (requires STK500.exe)
Universal MCS interface
STK500 native driver
Lawice Bootloader
MCS USB Programmer
USB ISP Programmer
MCS Bootloader
PROGGY
FLIP
USBprog programmer/AVR ISP mkII programmer
KamProg for AVR
my AVR mk2/ AVR 910 programmer
USB ASP
JTAG MKII
STK600
ARDUINO
Regarding the old CD Bascom original software – I vaguely remember that the seller sent me some file which I have inserted somewhere and it worked. However my old computer is now gone and and also I could not recover any relevant e-mails from that time. I think I bought it directly from Mark at MCS. Do I have to buy new software? |

USBprog programmer/AVR ISP mkII programmer, that is the one.
And it works also in the Arduino IDE to restore bootloaders.
Works with PID cable on Atxmega and ICSP cable on other.
Perhaps you can contact support@mcselec.com to help you out on you missing license file.
Hope you get it running again.
Have fun

Hi,
I bought the Diamex ALL AVR programmer and after it was connected to usb port it was looking for a driver. Then it comes with message "not correctly installed". I could not find any instructions in the DIAMEX leaflet. I am trying to to interface it to Bascom AVR.
Please give me some hints.
Best Regards to all, Josef |
