I've noticed a couple repeatable issues since I've upgraded to 2.0.8.7
1) Terminal Program stops displaying received serial data after a compile. Either close and restart Bascom or enter some data into the window to "wake it up"
2) Much code displays as dead even though it isn't. The only fix is to disable "Display dead code"
This is all useless information. I wonder what you try to accomplish.
But when you want a confirmation you should inform us which steps to make to reproduce the problem.
I would recommend to copy the settings you used with 2086(assuming that was the version you upgraded from)
Options, Select Settings File (and read the help)
The TE has some settings. You should also be clear about the used settings and about the used hardware. And since the TE com port is shared with some programmers as well. You should provide that info as well.
The RTS and DTR can be set in the options.
I use virtual COM ports. And at the moment some PCB that has an arduino bootloader. I had no problems.
The only problem i sometimes have is when i switch from the TE to the code that some lines are selected. It is not programmed that way and i do not know what causes it.
So provide some good info so i can see if i can reproduce the problem. It could be setting but it can always be a bug too.
No work on the TE was done. When there is no need i leave it as is.
For a different PC i installed my dev environment and updated the TE component software but it has nothing to do with this 2087 release.
About dead code : just make sure there are no errors in your Code Explorer.
I see people using endif instead of end if and the compiler will accept it but the parser used for the Code Explorer/Dead code does not and then you can get lot of derived errors.
That said, both the code Explorer and Dead Code checking are not perfect yet. But an update should make it better and not worse.
So again : provide some sample.
Long time users should know this. And if you think your code is sensitive you can always contact support. While adding new features it is impossible to make the product bug free but we are trying to do it. I do not have a crystal ball about user config and hardware so all info is important. _________________ Mark
