it keeps to be a problem. some bots (various sources) open a lot of connections.
while i now blocked IP ranges i will look into a better solution : only allowing IP from Germany/Austria/Swiss
After all it is the German BasCom Forum.

Thanks i fixed it after i noticed your message.
Some countries keep a lot of connections open. I have no idea why but i expect it either to be hack attempts or bots that scrape the net.

If you know a better way let me know but i am really tired about this now so when i have time i will implement fully country blocks. As this forum is hosted on the MCS server it impacts performance of the MCS server as well. If you know a better way let me know. And of course some non-German speaking countries keep access. Until i see abuse.

Every time I take a look here the website says 30...50 users online. I think that it was not allways like that. It is hard to believe that so many of those "users" are active humans all the time.
Implement an automatic logout at leaving or after some time?

EDIT: I see... when I am logged out then I still am a "user online".
So automatic logout does not help.
May be 30...50 Bascom followers lay dead behind their computers?

Im Moment hat sich die Lage etwas entspannt.
Aber ich bin überzeugt, dass die Admins an der Sache arbeiten.
Wenn man sich immer einloggen müsste,
würde man auch schon viele Gäste ausschließen.

Beside the traffic problems the server certificate expired. But i fixed that too.
Please notice that i have nothing to do with the forum software that might show logged in users. It is commercial software that was purchased by members of the forum.
I just host the software in a VM on the MCS dedicated server.
